365 Day Project - Day 283

Happy Birthday Weekend!!!

Today I kick off my birthday weekend. It's a weekend  that I now share with one of my best friends, Kat.
Her day is is on Sunday, the 5th. Mine's on the 6th! We're practically twins! (except she's a little older...shhh!)

Anyways, to get the fun-filled weekend started, Kat and I went shopping for some sweet new outfits to wear to our Karaoke Extravaganza Birthday Event Saturday night at Guaddie's.

After spending a couple hours of rifling through the endless racks of clothes at the mall, we finally found the purrfect thing: a jewel encrusted panther head necklace!

It is probably the most blinging feline face I have ever seen, and probably that has ever existed. And it is in no way excessive in its design.

I believe the score of this necklace (which Kat will proudly wear) is an indication of the sheer awesomeness to follow us through the rest of our birthday weekend extravaganza!

And, this photo has a striking similarity to the cover of one of my all-time favorite, high-energy, good times, dance-party albums, which will be in no short supply in the coming days:

This band, comprised of a handful of Seattle Art-School kids is seriously awesome and so much fun. The band is now called "Brite Futures" and I highly suggest you check them out if you're looking for a good time.

365 Day Project - Day 283

Courtnay wanted me to take a picture of her and her cats to send to some friends for Christmas cards....
I agreed, not realizing that is really not as easy as it sounds.
First we had to grab the cats. The "weird one" (Rio, left) first, and then the "normal one" (Cedo, right) second. But even the "normal one" was acting unusually weird, and it was obvious they did not want to cooperate with the "photo shoot."
After several attempts of corralling, and then getting the cats to relax enough to not look completely freaked out (or in Rio's case, nearly decapitated) we finally got a decent one where everyone looks moderately calm, and slightly willing to pose for a nice, family portrait.

What I've posted here is not that shot, but is represents the truly hilarious challenge we encountered while getting to the final product.
It  also pretty much makes Court the new poster child for the thousands of other "Crazy Cat Ladies" of the world.

Merry Christmas!
