Introducing: the Tacoma Tigers
Here is one of the first public photographs taken of Sumatran Tiger cubs in Tacoma... ever.
The mom (Jaya) gave birth to these two cubs in May. They came after many years of breeding attempts and they boost the endangered species' captive population in North America to 74.
There are less than 300 of these stunning cats in the entire world, and we now have five of them in Tacoma.
Today, I got to see the cubs make their first public appearance and take pictures for work.
Rough job, right?
They were gorgeous, majestic, adorable and silly all at the same time. Check them out for yourself - they will be at Point Defiance for the next two years or so.
