I won my sister's "Show off your shot" photo challenge last Friday (I know how it sounds - I "won" my sister's challenge? But really though, I've entered on several occasions and she definitely does not play favorites... so trust me, I was excited to be able to pull the bragging rights button off of her page.)
And since I'm clearly on a roll, I figured I might as well enter again this week. Her challenge is pretty easy - the only parameters are that you post a photo, and share something about how you got the shot (i.e. while taking it, editing, it, whatever).
Here's my show-off for this week - I was at Seattle Center the other day and heard this crazy loud sound... turns out it was a news helicopter getting ready to take off from the landing pad at Komo's office!
I had never seen anything like it before, so naturally I pulled out my camera and started snapping. I got a series of similar "take-off" shots wit the helicopter at different elevations.
I decided to patch them up, and did it in the first, most logical way that came to mind. I pulled each image ontop of the one before it, reducing opacities for each level, and then using my eraser tool to clean up and rough edges or not-quite-right overlaps.
This is the end result:
Turned out fairly decent in my opinion (especially considering the lack of time and consideration I actually put into the process.)
I might do things differently the second time around, but all in all a fun, pretty simple little project for a slightly different end result.
Check out more "show-offs" in this week's challenge on my sister's blog!
